Civista 5k 2010 in La Plata MD: Photos!

Hats off to the fine folks at Civista for organizing a great 5k race down in La Plata this past weekend!  The weather was perfect, the course was challenging and fun, and everyone seemed to have a great time!

They also organized a great selection of food for the runners after the race, and although I couldn’t bear to think about the pizza and burgers there, the fresh fruit was a welcome way to finish off the race!  The weather was excellent as well!  It was slightly overcast, which prevented the course from being too hot or humid, and just as I was crossing the finish line the sun managed to break through so hat off to whoever managed to plan that one so well!

The hardest part was undoubtedly the hill climb up from Civista Hospital to the finish line at the La Plata Town Hall.  It probably didn’t help my cause that I had chosen to go out to the Preakness the day before and was already pretty sunburned and worn out, but that wasn’t enough to stop me!  I ended up with a finish time of 30:54:35, 3 minutes better than my run at the Saint Charles 5k, and my average pace was 9:49 per mile.  No i just gotta find the next 5k to join!  Anyone else out there reading this that participated?  I’d love to know what you thought and how you did!

    ANS in LaPlata has a 5k/10k race on June 6th.
